Introducing Jennifer Gay

My background over the last 36 years has been in fashion, textiles and advising people on colour and their wardrobe.

I first came across Alpaca in 1991 when I went to a Christmas fair and someone was selling Apaca jackets which were very basic.

They were working for the missionaries in Peru, and were involved in the reclamation of a church, and amongst the rubble a knitting machine was found and so it all began.

The Peruvians have a natural aptitude for weaving and knitting and as they have 80 percent of the worlds Alpacas. It is a way of life, so many varieties of the yarn and the older people sit on the roadside dividing this 2nd most luxurious fibre in the world, Vicuña is number one.

Being there inspired me to make this into my business, but only selling 100% Alpaca and to this day I have been steadfast in my belief in the purest Alpaca mostly from the tum which we call baby Alpaca, as it is so soft.

‘Jennifer makes the ordinary look extraordinary.’
